Anandham legacy

1860

Vannia Nadar founded our trading business in the year 1860. We started trading in rice, dhal, sugar, spices etc. He along with his 4 brothers set up trading offices in Madras, Andhra Pradesh, Karachi and Rangoon.

1942

VV Vanniaperumal, son of Vannia Nadar started trading in edible oils in the year 1942.

1942

The company started selling edible oils like Coconut Oil and Gingelly (Sesame) Oil. The Gingelly Oil was started under the brand name Anandham. The brand was named after his son whose name was Vannia Anandham. Anandham also means “Happiness” in Tamil and we believe that “Happiness in life begins from the kitchen. The food we eat keeps us healthy and a healthy life is a happy one”

1942

The first manufacturing unit - Muthammal Unit was set up in Virudhunagar, a vibrant industrial hub in the Southern state of Tamil Nadu in India.

1959

By this time, Anandham Gingelly (Sesame) Oil was the most popular brand of Sesame Oil in Tamil Nadu and affiliated regions. The founders felt that they had to give back to their society and established V V Vanniaperumal Primary School, a charitable institute run by the VVV Trust.

1986

VV Vanniaperumal’s sons - VVV Anandham & VVV Gunaseelan continued the Anandham brand name along with their four sons.

The head office was established at 42, Andikinar Street, Virudhunagar which still remains our office till date

1988

A dedicated cleaning unit for Sesame Seeds was setup to ensure that we ensure only the finest of raw materials entered our production unit

2014

Brand Anandham is now ably run by Asokan Chakravarthy and Mahendran Anandham along with their children
